Advanced Machining Cell and Helium Leakage Testing Device: a Project Made in Tecnopress
Project development of an air suspension for electric vehicles.
Project development of an air suspension for electric vehicles.
Incoming Request
In the rapidly evolving electric vehicle industry research and development of innovative components are essential to meet the growing demands for efficiency and safety.
A noteworthy case study of ours is the implementation of an air suspension for electric vehicles, which is characterized by significant machining and a high tightness requirement.
The incoming challenging requirements of the project included the complexity of assembly interfaces, the need for automated direct assembly line supply for a new EV OEM in the U.S. and high delivery volumes.
Project Management
Thanks to a holistic approach to the product and process in cooperation with our customer we were able to successfully overcome these challenges.
One of the key elements was the adoption of an integrated design of the machining cell, which included optical and functional controls.
This allowed accurate and real-time monitoring of the production phases, ensuring maximum precision and compliance of the machined casting.
In addition we have built a new helium leakage testing system, exploiting the unique properties of this inert gas to ensure a 100% tightness of the product.
Thanks to the traceability of process data through DMC codes, the complete traceability of the component has been ensured, securing the highest quality and safety.
Benefits to our Customer
The success of this project was confirmed by the conclusion of the final tests of the customer’s assy part: our product, the “heart” component, came out to be fully suitable for the final assembly and function.
Ultimately, through a holistic approach, the adoption of innovative technologies and rigorous attention to details we have been able to ensure the delivery of high volumes of a complex product, thus contributing to the customer’s growth and competitiveness in the EV sector.
